St Helen's Community Garden Glebe NSW
St Helen's Community Garden Glebe NSW

Ours is a communal garden where participants work together, and share both the gardening and the harvest. There are no private plots and the garden is unfenced. It is on council land. Together we grow vegetables and herbs, using organic gardening methods. We aim to minimise our impact on the environment by using tank water, recycling organic material (composting and worm farming), mulching and seed saving. The local community and businesses contribute their organic waste to our composting system. There is a picking bed for the public. Explanatory labels on plants, group tours and open days provide an educational role. Our membership is diverse and anyone who shares our ideals can join.
